Mum-to-be left cracking up over baker’s major fail with gender reveal cake

News

Gender reveal parties have become a major trend over the last few years, where people throw a party to announce the gender of their baby.

Typically there’s a cake or coloured confetti involved, but we’ve also seen gender reveal lasagnas, farting gender reveals and even a gender reveal with a helping hand from a hippo.

Like with all things in life, sometimes gender reveals can go very wrong.

This was recently the case for one expectant mum, who ordered a cute bumble bee-themed gender reveal cake.

However when the sweet treat arrived for her event, she soon spotted a major issue with it.

The mum-to-be took to TikTok to share the hilarious blunder with her followers.

Posting under the username @crazypiggies she revealed how she’d sent a baker a photo of a cake she liked saying “this is what I wanted”.

The image shows a cake with white frosting and bees made out of icing, with the words “what will it bee” on the top, next to a beehive.

The sponge inside the cake would be coloured pink or blue depending whether she was having a boy or a girl.

But when the cake was delivered, it wasn’t exactly what she hoped.

Some kind of communication error had clearly occurred and instead of a “surprise” colour inside, the entire cake had been covered in blue icing – showing she was expecting a little boy.

There was also a creepy miniature baby doll on top, instead of a beehive and the cake contained real flowers instead of edible ones made from fondant.

Luckily the woman was able to see the funny side of the situation and had a good laugh over the whole thing.

Her post quickly went viral, being watched over four million times and garnering over 735,000 likes.

Thousands of people also commented on the video.

One person said: “Girl lemme know where you got this, SO I CAN NEVER GO THERE.”

Another wrote: “Please tell me this is a joke. No way you actually paid someone for this? I would cry.”

A third added: “As a cake decorator I’m stressed for you!! I always make sure not even a speck is showing so I don’t ruin the reveal.”
